The key card in the 1984 Topps set, this Don Mattingly rookie card was graded as Gem Mint 10 by PSA. Topps was known for a cheaper cardboard stock prior to 1992 so Gem Mint 10 grades were harder to come by in the 1980's. Don Mattingly helped fuel the baseball card boom of the 1980's with his unique style and gritty play on the field. He just missed the Hall of Fame when the Veterans committee left him four votes shy of enshrinement in December of 2022. A future vote in years to come still might give Mattingly the HOF stature he deserves.
Low Estimate: $850 and up.
